Hot potato

It looks to me like Paul Bremer is cutting and running for the hills with this stealth handover of sovereignty to Iraq. My guess is that Iraq will soon be a model dictator-run client-state.

John Negroponte, the man we sent to represent our interests as US ambassador has plenty of experience pretending not to notice atrocities. He was US ambassador to Honduras during the years when the Nicaraguan Contra forces were based in southern Honduras. Those forces were known as "freedom fighters" and turned out to be very good at fighting freedom.

I'm expectant that martial law will be declared in Iraq soon. Everyone will regret the temporary loss of freedom and proclaim their faith that the elections will be held on time.

Everyone that thought they were doing US troops a favor by using the US flag as a pom-pom to cheerlead for war have helped to bring us here. Soon they may have little to cheer for.

A martyr is willing to die.
A soldier is trained to kill.
Nobody wins but the bullet,
who lives for the thrill.

Rah.
