Fascism, by any other name...

Hundreds of communities nation-wide, and 4 states, have passed laws banning local law enforcement officials from cooperating with Patriot Act style investigations (if federal agents want local help, they must adhere to the Bill of Rights and Constitution). Many conservatives, life-long proponents of small government, are as rabidly anti-Patriot Act as we liberals.

This poses a problem for Commander Bush, who wants to pass Patriot Act II, an act which would be called "An act to repeal of the Bill of Rights" in less ironic times.

The new Bush strategy is to pass the provisions of Patriot Act II piecemeal by attaching them to crucial pieces of legislation.

Citizens of New Hampshire have these words on their license plates, "Live free or die". I suggest it be changed to read, "Live free or vote Republican".
